Brilliant. Before I delve into the episode’s most pivotal plots, I’d like to state just how much I enjoyed Howard throughout the hour. He’s an utterly hilarious source of comedy for the show and I really hope he sticks around for a long time to come. Everything from him asking who Alicia is to his islands questions and “slush fund” were utterly hysterical and added a good dimension of fun to the episode’s proceedings. Well done.
As for the episode’s main case, I quite enjoyed Diane & Alicia defending the judge particularly the former schooling him on having some humility. Of course, this was all overshadowed by the return of Cary and I couldn’t be happier. He’s evolved a lot over the course of the show and it’s great to have him back with the team. His relationship with Alicia has developed organically and wonderfully making it always a joy to watch.
Finally, the return of creepy Lemond Bishop and his threats were also welcome. I’m not sure how I feel about Kalinda’s sexual encounter with Lana which is actually getting repetitive but here’s hoping the finale is suitably explosive as it brings all the plot threads to a head.
All in all, a great hour.
