Pretty good. I know I sound like a broken record but this was more of the same: The Authority stuff is plain fantastic and seriously the most impressive arc the show has done in years, but all the Terry, Hoyt, Lafayette, and Luna subplots are pretty painful to watch. I guess I just have to get used to all the filler but it’s quite unfortunate because otherwise, this season would have been superb.
Nevertheless, the Authority shenanigans wielded some excellent moments: Sookie fairy-blasting Russel, the brutal Bus massacre, and of course the utterly epic ending with Russel seemingly killing The Guardian (which happened much too soon in my opinion).
Finally, I quite enjoyed the fairies revealing that it was the smell of Sookie’s blood that got her parents killed. This could actually make her interesting again so it was definitely a welcome development. For someone who’s supposed to be the show’s lead, she’d become much too disposable as a character lately.
I know its doubtful, but I do hope the writers do away with the above-mentioned subplots soon. It would be a true shame if the season collapsed under the weight of those missteps.
